My Ride > Thanks to Chevrolet

So this is the day I’ve been waiting for! The day I get my car! Now I knew what car I was getting a couple of days previous but I had no idea how the 2011 model was going to look and I had no idea about colour etc.

There was no way you were going to miss me with this car! It was a beast!

The 2011 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport convertible > what a machine! NOTE to Chevrolet 🙂 Next trip can I have the red one please! It looks fantastic! 🙂

I am going to leave this post like this and give you a quick video of when I received the car… I want you to be excited about how it would perform like I was. There will be a post very soon dedicated to the car and it’s capabilities!

This is the Route 66 in style and how it should be done!

Lou Mitchell’s Diner > 565 W Jackson Blvd, Chicago, IL

87 Years of great food and ‘the world’s best coffee’

The diner at the very beginning of Route 66 and what a way to start a journey! This all-american diner has all the things you’d expect in the movies. Awesome settings, great comfort food, non-stop coffee pouring hard-working table service and to top it off they have a fantastic greeter! As soon you walk in your offered a fresh donut ball from the basket and a mini pack of milk duds. On being seated there are more welcoming treats. Pieces of fresh fruit to wake your taste buds. And IF you can finish your amazing meal which will be HUGE you get complimentary ice cream. Fantastic hospitality!

My waitress was Mickey and she was great! The type of person which helped Lou Mitchell’s become a Chicago & Route 66 institution since 1923!

The Blackstone Renaissance – Chicago’s Finest

So… Since following my blog many of you have asked ‘Where am I staying…. ?’ Right now I am staying at the world-famous Blackstone Renaissance here in Chicago. First opened in 1910 it’s now celebrating its 100th birthday. A beautifully stunning historical building which was once closed and once lost many major articles. They even found their lobby chandelier out on the streets of Chicago when renovating. Thankfully it is now restored back to its original glory and is still boasting its original attention to detail.

This luxury hotel is a perfect example of how old and new design can work in perfect harmony.

During my stay here I took part in some absinthe tasting… you’ll have to watch the clip to see my reaction…

Hard Rock Café Chicago > The Corner of Clark & Ontario, River North, Chicago, IL

Love All, Serve All

You can’t go to any major city without experiencing their Hard Rock Café and Chicago is definitely no exception.

The place is stunning and easily one of the best Hard Rock’s I have been to and I’ve seen a lot of them! Externally the Chicago Hard Rock is the best I have ever seen. A classic look with and edge to it. The staff couldn’t be any friendlier and the food was great.

I suggest that when you come to Chicago you have to eat here at least once.
