Ep.14> Lou Mitchell’s Diner > Route 66

Lou Mitchell’s Diner > 565 W Jackson Blvd, Chicago, IL

87 Years of great food and ‘the world’s best coffee’

The diner at the very beginning of Route 66 and what a way to start a journey! This all-american diner has all the things you’d expect in the movies. Awesome settings, great comfort food, non-stop coffee pouring hard-working table service and to top it off they have a fantastic greeter! As soon you walk in your offered a fresh donut ball from the basket and a mini pack of milk duds. On being seated there are more welcoming treats. Pieces of fresh fruit to wake your taste buds. And IF you can finish your amazing meal which will be HUGE you get complimentary ice cream. Fantastic hospitality!

My waitress was Mickey and she was great! The type of person which helped Lou Mitchell’s become a Chicago & Route 66 institution since 1923!
